rational vs intuitive

as part of my honors year ive been looking into rational and intuitive design (and the reulting conflict) ... this is by far the coolest interface ive seen in my life and it is completely intuitive. the video is about the use of interactive technology to further engage the audience at a concert (nine inch nails). interestingly, it seems that to create something so seemlessly intuitive requires a very high degree of rationality ... when setting criteria for the programs or making sure that the seperate devices involved speak the same language etc. - enough said .... watch the video.

Catch Up

The past two weeks have been hectic to say the least,  first of all we had our RSA presentations which went very well you will be able to look over my work as soon as i get around to uploading it in the near future. Secondly, last thursday i presented the findings of my research for my fourth year so far. For the first time we delivered lectures in an actual lecture theatre, which was at first intimidating but turned out to be an extremely stimulating environment to present your work in. the presentation itself went great and as with my RSA work it will be up on here soon. And last but not least we receive our next project briefs (just in time for xmas)  tomorrow... i'm really excited about cracking on with my honors year now as from here on in it should be exclusively self directed work.
